The Welcome Bundle is a special card pack bundle available from the in-game Shop and the online Blizzard Shop.
The bundle includes 10 Classic card packs, plus 1 Legendary card from the Classic set. The bundle costs $4.99 USD/€4.99 EUR/£3.99 GBP/$63.00 MXN or equivalent, offering deeply discounted prices for those interested in cards from the Classic set. The Bundle is available to both new and existing accounts, but can only be purchased once for each account per region.[1]

- The Legendary class card is chosen at random from those of the Classic set, which includes 1 Legendary card for each class.
- The Legendary is in addition to the 10 card packs, which have the usual chances of themselves containing Legendaries.
- The Welcome Bundle is by far the cheapest way of directly purchasing cards. Even without the Legendary minion, the bundle provides cards at around a third of the price available through buying smaller quantities of card packs, and around half of the price available even if buying 60 packs at once.
- In September 2018, Blizzard announced an upcoming change to the Welcome Bundle: Instead of a random class Legendary, the bundle will contain a Classic Legendary Dragon (
Alexstrasza, Deathwing, Malygos, 
Nozdormu, Onyxia, or Ysera). Accounts that bought the old Welcome Bundle will be eligible to buy a new one as well.[3]

About[]
The Welcome Bundle offers excellent value. The Classic set is especially recommended for new players, and is also a core set for all players due to its "evergreen" presence in Standard format, guaranteeing the cards' relevance.
In addition, the legendaries on offer are all of above-average value. Some define (and thus enable the exploration of) entire deck types, while others are simply powerful and fun cards. Each is featured in at least one of their class' Deck Recipes, including the "Classic" recipe. One downside is that each is limited to a specific class, making their usefulness dependent on the player's preferences and openness to exploring new classes and deck types.
Overall the Welcome Bundle is an excellent deal for anyone wishing (or willing) to spend real money on obtaining cards, provided they have interest in the Classic set. The bundle will be less valuable for those who already have a large amount of the cards from the set, although even then the cards can be disenchanted for good amounts of dust, especially the legendary.

2018[]
- Alexstrasza
Alexstrasza has a potentially powerful Battlecry whose effect is tricky to maximize. She works best in slow control decks that are not focused on gradually dealing damage over the early turns or as a way to prep combo decks that utilize burst damage. You can also use the Battlecry on yourself, which could save your skin if you're close to death.
- Deathwing
Deathwing has extremely high raw stats and a Battlecry that wipes the entire board, but the fact it discards your hand means playing Deathwing is an all-or-nothing play. If uncontested, he can destroy the opponent over the next few turns. His high base stats also makes him a prime target for cards that can summon him without activating his Battlecry, such as Recruit cards.
- Malygos
Malygos is a cornerstone piece for spell damage-based combo decks. He empowers cheap direct damage spells like Moonfire, Lightning Bolt, and Sinister Strike to deal heavy damage directly to the enemy hero. Due to his very high mana cost, many of these combo decks often find ways to get Malygos out on board at a lower cost to make the combo reliable.
- Nozdormu
Nozdormu is unfortunately the worst of the Dragon legendaries. His effect is double-edged and there's a very high variance on how effective a timer reduction is against a person. He might be able to create messy turns or ruin combos with long animations in niche cases, but his actual utility is unreliable.
- Onyxia
Onyxia generates a wide board on her own by filling your board with Whelps. But while she has high raw stat value, her Whelps are very weak and are wiped out by even the smallest of AoE removal. Her high mana cost also prevents you from following up with board-wide buffs.
- Ysera
Ysera is a slow but powerful value card. Her Dream Cards are very powerful for its cost, ranging from overstatted minions like Emerald Drake or Laughing Sister, burst damage with Nightmare or Ysera Awakens, and temporary removal or minion recycling with Dream. Effects that can create cheaper copies of her can multiply the value received.
2016[]
- Druid
Cenarius is a jack-of-all-trades minion for druid control decks. Being good for both generating board and helping you survive or buff a well-developed board, as well as being a defensive tool, it offers good overall value.
- Hunter
King Krush is a massive minion with charge. It's a good game finisher or a way to kill a high level enemy minion, and thanks to its high health, it's a good tempo play as well. Although not as effective as other charge finisher like Leeroy Jenkins, he is a target for Beast synergy effects like 
Kathrena Winterwisp and 
Revenge of the Wild.
- Mage
Archmage Antonidas is a key card in many mage spell-synergy and control decks, providing an outright win condition through his triggered effect.
- Paladin
Tirion Fordring is not only a strong card for almost any non-aggro paladin decks, but also one of the strongest legendaries in the game. It offers outstanding value through his stats, Divine Shield and Deathrattle, which equips the player with Ashbringer.
- Priest
Prophet Velen is a key card in priest combo decks, usually in combination with cards like Mind Blast, 
Spirit Lash, and Shadowreaper Anduin to deliver a devastating amount of direct damage or life-saving healing in a single turn.
- Rogue
Edwin VanCleef is common in rogue decks like Miracle Rogue, where his Combo effect allows him to grow to monstrous size, either as a finisher or as a devastating early game play.
- Shaman
Al'Akir the Windlord is an all-rounder card in many shaman midrange and control decks, often serving as a finisher in combination with Rockbiter Weapon. He is also a target for Elemental synergy effects.
- Warlock
Lord Jaraxxus is one of the most unusual legendaries in the game, and is seen in warlock control decks like Handlock and Renolock, usually serving as a risky late game win condition that slowly outvalues the opponent with huge Infernals.
- Warrior
Grommash Hellscream is a key finisher in many Control Warrior decks, as well as other combo decks built around damaging the warrior's own minions using cards like Inner Rage or Cruel Taskmaster.

- According to the announcement blog the bundle deal was secured by Krizgut, the tavern's "goblin inventory manager", and is provided through the use of an "ethereal portal".[2][4]
