Heroic

One possible strategy its to use priest. Since the class possesses a good selection of removal the player has a higher chance to counter the Sentinel's cards:

The strategy is simple, if the player controls the board until the boss has used both LegacyBrawl and The Grand TournamentEnter the Coliseum the enemy will lose his only ways of board clearing and will slowly lose control of the game. Since the deck is full of removal his stronger minions will hardly be a menace if the player manages their resources well. To ensure victory it is wise to fill the last part of the deck with cards like LegacyImp Master (to fill the board with minions), LegacyNovice Engineer and LegacyAcolyte of Pain (for card draw), The League of ExplorersJeweled Scarab (it has the chance to discover another LegacyShadow Word: Death), Goblins vs GnomesEnhance-o Mechano or NaxxramasKel'Thuzad (to make great board trading/damage).

Another good strategy is the Dreadsteed Warlock deck, which uses The Grand TournamentDreadsteed in combination with NaxxramasKel'Thuzad or NaxxramasBaron Rivendare to summon many copies of Dreadsteed. The Dreadsteeds will be able to do 1 damage each every turn, becoming an effective method to damage enemy minions. Dreadsteed is also very strong against the peculiarities of the Steel Sentinel AI, which will frequently use removal on the Dreadsteed, however futile that may be. The warlock class also features one of the best cards against the Sentinel, LegacyTwisting Nether.

Lore

The Steel Sentinel is original to Hearthstone. This suit of armor once belonged to Anduin Lothar, after whom Hero SkinsAnduin Wrynn was named by his father Varian, and was collected and put on display in the Hall of Explorers by the League of Explorers. It was later brought to life by The League of ExplorersArch-Thief Rafaam using the Staff of Origination, in order to serve as a distraction while he attempted to ransack the Hall.

Following the Sentinel's defeat, the armor's left greave remained intact, and was given by Brann Bronzebeard to the explorer during their final battle with Arch-Thief Rafaam.[2] The armor subsequently reappears in slightly tamer form as The League of ExplorersAnimated Armor.
