How to get
Gloom Stag can be obtained through crafting only.

Strategy
Gloom Stag can become a very powerful 4/8 Taunt minion for 5 mana, outstripping cards such as 
Nesting Roc and 
Fen Creeper for stats for a much harder limiting factor.
As an alternative, this can be run in a deck with 
Master Oakheart as one of the few useful 2-Attack minions available to Druid on board, and to thin your deck a bit more. Although it will lose the buff, you could also consider running this in a Taunt Druid deck using cards such as Witching Hour to resummon it, as the Taunt is not part of the conditional battlecry. In Wild, you can also play synergistic cards such as 
Druid of the Fang, 
Virmen Sensei and 
Knight of the Wild.
Trivia
- At the onset of the Year of the Dragon, Gloom Stag joined
Baku the Mooneater, Genn Greymane, Black Cat, Glitter Moth, and Murkspark Eel as the first non-Classic cards to rotate into the Hall of Fame.
