Avian Watcher is a rare neutral minion card, from the One Night in Karazhan set.
How to get
Two copies of regular Avian Watcher are obtained by defeating Terestian Illhoof, the third boss in One Night in Karazhan's third wing, The Menagerie.
As a Wild-format card, both regular and golden versions of Avian Watcher can also be crafted for the following amounts:
Card | Crafting cost | Disenchanting |
---|---|---|
Avian Watcher | 100 | 20 |
Golden Avian Watcher | 800 | 100 |
Strategy
Thanks to its Battlecry, this minion gains value in a Secret-oriented deck, providing decent stats and Taunt for 5 mana. Without a Secret in play, this minion is too weak for its mana cost.
To make sure that the Battlecry activates, hold this minion back until it can be played together with a Secret in a single turn. That requires 6 mana for a Paladin, 7 mana for a Hunter, or 8 mana for a Mage. However, if a Mage has Ice Block in play they will usually be able to play this on turn 5, as that Secret seldom triggers so early in the game.
