Xur'goth is the second boss encounter in Chapter 1: A World in Ruin of Trial by Felfire Story. The player controls Aranna Starseeker.

- The player starts with a dormant
Shalja, Outcast that awakens after 4 Demons die. - When cast, Rusted Gaze chooses a random card in the player's hand that they will have enough mana to play next turn, and places an Enchantment on it. If that card isn't played, it is discarded from their hand at the end of the turn. This effect functions similarly to Chaos Gazer, despite its ambiguous description suggesting that it may also target cards that the player would not have enough mana to play next turn.
- If the card is played then returned to hand, it will no longer have the Enchantment even if it was returned the same turn.
- Leaving Shalja, Outcast dormant, or if Shalja dies, is allowed and will not affect future events.
Tips[]
- It's recommended to mulligan for 1, 2 and 3 cost cards to circumvent its effects in the early game.
- More often or not, the corrupted cards should be played right off the bat. Otherwise, focus on more impactful cards as the situation would call for.
- Keep using your Hero Power to replenish your hand.
- Focus first on controlling the board and progress towards killing the 4 Demons required to free Shalja, Outcast. When awakened, you can make use of her to secure the board while quickly rushing her down with your other minions.

Each turn, Xur'Goth's Hero Power corrupts a random card in your hand. With this in mind, it's recommended to mulligan for 1, 2 and 3 cost cards to circumvent its effects in the early game. Cards like Spymistress, Bamboozle and Hunter's Pack. More often or not, the corrupted cards can be played right off the bat. Otherwise, focus on more impactful cards as the situation would call for.
