Whelp

Whelps are young Dragon minions. There are several types of whelp. Almost all whelps are uncollectible, and are brought into play by other cards.

Whether a card is or isn't a whelp is relevant to Raid Boss Onyxia, who gains Immune while a whelp is in play. Below is a list of cards that are considered whelps.

Dragon whelp (aka dragon whelplings, dragonlings, or broodlings) are the smallest members of the dragonkin species. They are the youngest and weakest variation of dragons adventurers face. In most cases however, where there are whelps, their larger cousins are close by.

• Patch 22.4.0.131660 (2022-02-15): With the addition of Raid Boss Onyxia, "Whelp" is now used as a classification for certain minions.
