Strategy[edit | edit source]
A decently costed Secret; this offers a 3-cost minion at a slight discount, albeit subject to RNG. As such, it should ideally be played early in the game, where your opponent's minions are unlikely to kill a 3-cost minion in a single attack. The ability to intercept attacks on your hero, much like Noble Sacrifice, allows this card to act as situational defense in a pinch.
Note that if you have a Misdirection that was played after this card, it will redirect the attack away from the summoned minion. This may not be desirable as it can direct the attack back into your hero. Similarly, Snake Trap and Venomstrike Trap will trigger when the attack is redirected.

Dormant for 2 turns. When this awakens, reduce the Cost of a random minion in your hand by (5). "C'mon down to Illhoof's bargain bin! When the satyr's free, he'll lower your fee!"
Battlecry: Silence a minion. Their wings are silent but their screech is... whatever the opposite of silent is.
Stealth Stranglethorn is a beautiful place to visit, but you wouldn't want to live there.
Battlecry: Give a friendly minion +3 Health. Inkmaster Solia had to figure out how to tatoo feathers.
Deathrattle: Deal 4 damage to a random enemy minion. More Boom for your buck.

Battlecry: If you control another Murloc, Discover a Murloc. Lookout is a self-appointed title that's mostly an excuse to beat things up.

Battlecry: Invoke Galakrond. Gain +1 Attack for each other friendly minion. Galakrond would be extra mad if he was resurrected with gnaw marks on his bones.

Whenever you restore Health, add a random Druid spell to your hand. Lifeweaving is all well and good until it's time to cut the thread.
Battlecry: Silence a Demon. When there's something strange (say, a gibbering demon) in your neighborhood, who are you going to call?
Taunt Battlecry: Gain +1/+1 for each enemy Deathrattle minion. Warlocks have the town exorcist on speed dial in case they unleash the wrong demon.
Battlecry: If you control no other minions, gain Taunt and Divine Shield. He is a champion, with no friends. He'll keep on fighting, til the end!

- Wandering Monster was the very first card designed for Kobolds and Catacombs, having been invented during the initial expansion pitch and making it to the release version of the set almost completely untouched.
