Volcanosaur is a rare neutral minion card, from the Journey to Un'Goro set.

How to get[edit | edit source]

Volcanosaur can be obtained through Journey to Un'Goro card packs bought through the ingame Shop, purchased online from the Battle.net shop, or through crafting.

Card Crafting cost Disenchanting
Volcanosaur 100 20
Golden Volcanosaur 800 100

Strategy[edit | edit source]

While statistically poor for its mana cost, the double Adapt gives this minion an incredible amount of versatility. Depending on the board state and your luck, it could become a Taunt with Divine Shield, a Poisonous minion with Stealth, an 8/9 minion, or many more combinations. Despite this, it is still very expensive and lacks any immediate board impact, making it mostly useful for Arena rather than Constructed.

For a 7 cost minion, Volcanosaur is weak on his own, but his power curve is really high, so, cost reduction can be a nice choice to combine with. Prismatic Lens is the best option to play along. Reducing it's cost to 2 or 3 can potentially win the game if protected right.

Like all Adapt cards, he works best with cards that saves you some Adapt options, like Hand of Protection, Sacred Maul, Blessed Maul and other buff cards that have similar effects.

Brann Bronzebeard can transform Volcanosaur in a somehow stronger Galvadon.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • This minion appears to be the same dinosaur seen on the Adapt choice card Volcanic Might.
  • A single golden copy of Volcanosaur was given out to each player logging in on April 5, 2017, to celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Mammoth. The card was immediately playable in decks, before the full release of Journey to Un'Goro. Once obtained this way, both the regular and golden versions of Volcanosaur could be crafted and disenchanted.
    • This was the first card in the game that could be used in Play mode before the release of the expansion it belonged to.
