Categorizing non-collectible cards[]

This wiki describes, in a couple places, the idea that cards are broken down into Collectible, Uncollectible, and then several other categories that are neither Collectible nor Uncollectible. That's quite counterintuitive and seems incorrect. Is there an official source defining (for instance) boss cards as not being categorized as "uncollectible" even though they are literally uncollectible? Or is that just something we fell into without thinking about it?

I'd like to redefine "uncollectible" as the exact complement of "collectible": Boss cards, Unavailable cards (credits cards and system / debug cards), Removed cards, and what was formerly called "Uncollectible". That last category - cards that appear in PvP but are only created by other effects - could be renamed "Generated cards" (i.e. tokens).

(You might object "oh calling it Generated would mean that Fireballs would be in 2 categories because of Antonidas", but that's no more compelling than "Spectral Knight is a boss card because it's used by Razuvious". We're talking primary usage here. "Token" is a little narrow for cards that can be added to your hand (LegacyBananas), shuffled into your deck (Goblins vs GnomesBurrowing Mine), etc. But I'm open to other suggestions.)

Sound good to everyone? -Jerodast (talk) 19:53, 20 January 2015 (UTC)

+1 from me.
I'm new here, I don't know if there's a voting procedure or what, but I think it's a good idea and I'm glad you're volunteering to do all the work ;P -- Karol007 (talk) 13:53, 30 May 2015 (UTC)
Well that never happened :) In retrospect the "name clash" with the Generate ability was a bad idea. We could still do something like this, but names are hard, and if the community is already used to this breakdown, I can live with that.
P.S. No voting procedure as yet, just "talk it over and give people a chance to respond if you want to do anything drastic". "Consensus" is the official system of wiki decision-making but how formal that is varies by individual project. - jerodast (talk) 00:49, 23 April 2017 (UTC)

So, hijacking this 2015 thread, what exactly should be the correct definition for "Uncollectible" cards? I'd also like to define "Uncollectible" as the exact complement of "Collectible", including Boss cards, Unavailable cards (credits cards and system / debug cards), Removed cards, etc. Aegonostic (talk) 18:04, 16 October 2019 (UTC)
