Choose One[edit source]

The Choose One ability do not necessarily need a condition to be met, in my opinion. - Blitztanis. [12:56, 2013-08-29 (UTC)]

Not sure what this is about, but then, I'm almost three years late. - jerodast (talk) 18:49, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

Counter[edit source]

Counter is not a ability - Blitztanis. [13:31, 2013-08-29 (UTC)]

Counter is considered an ability since Blizzard put it in bold. I agree this is not that convincing. The same issue applies to Freeze. M:TG has the concept of "keyword ability" and "keyword action"; these are clearly the latter not the former. At the same's not a huge deal to lump them together. - jerodast (talk) 18:49, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

Counter page?[edit source]

Why is Counter the only ability to not get its own page? Is it because it's exclusive to a single card? If so, that's a poor reason in my opinion, cause just because it only exists on one card now doesn't mean it won't exist on future cards later. And besides, we already have "one card ability" pages, in the form of Mega-Windfury. 15:23, 10 March 2017 (UTC)

I'm guessing the only card that has the boldfaced word "Counter" on it is Counterspell? Aegonostic (talk) 18:43, 10 March 2017 (UTC)
Correct. (This is the same person as above, at a different location, so different IP Address.) 05:28, 11 March 2017 (UTC)
When compared to keywords such as Discover, Adapt, or even Mega-Windfury, the keyword Counter can seem somewhat intuitive, by its own definition. Also, its feature solely on a single card doesn't help much to garner it reputation as a "keyword ability". Maybe in the future when it is reprinted on more cards, there may see a greater need for it to get its own special page. Aegonostic (talk) 05:55, 11 March 2017 (UTC)
We do have a page for unlimited attacks, though, which is only found on a single card, is if anything even more self-explanatory than Counter, and isn't even considered a proper keyword. --DeludedTroll (talk) 11:32, 11 March 2017 (UTC)
We also have page for Auto-Attack, even though it's only found in the Chess section of One Night in Karazhan (and its Brawl version), but there are several cards with Auto-Attack, whereas Counterspell is the only card which features Counter, but maybe in the future, we see more cards with Counter (second expansion). These are good counterpoints to make. If there is a relevant need for an article about "Counter", I don't believe there's really anything prohibiting the creation of that article. Looking at Ability#Transform, I'm not sure why "Summon", "Transform, and "Unlimited Attacks" (and others on that page) are listed as keyword abilities, since they are never bold-faced. I think it's good to distinguish between abilities arising from Hearthstone code and abilities established as Keywords, and maybe the article Ability needs a revamp. Aegonostic (talk) 14:10, 11 March 2017 (UTC)
For now, it's best to use Counterspell as the page to add any info on the Counter ability. If one more card gets printed with the Counter keyword, we can make a Counter ability page. Aegonostic (talk) 14:44, 3 April 2017 (UTC)

Condensing article sections into tabular format[edit source]

Currently, the article's sections are super long (longer than the height of the browser) and they are lists of abilities with a short definition snippet, so I want to put out my recommendation that the sections be condensed into a tabular format, getting rid of the subsections and putting them into individual tables. This probably will be done in the future, as more abilities will come out of each new expansion. Aegonostic (talk) 00:46, 12 March 2017 (UTC)

Actually I think it's fine to keep everything in sections. Having a TOC is more convenient and is more needed. Aegonostic (talk) 04:43, 12 March 2017 (UTC)
