Steward of Time is a Tier 2 minion in the Battlegrounds game mode.

Strategy[edit | edit source]

The Steward of Time is generally an average minion, serving less as a useful addition to strategies, and more as a filler pick if no better options are available. Its 3/4 statline is decently powerful for tier 2, but its main strength lies in the buff it provides to all available minions one can buy when it is sold. Keep in mind that this only buffs the minions in the Tavern itself, and not those on your board, so if you intend to make use of its effect, be sure to sell it before buying the minion(s) you want. Although "wasting" a gold (for instance, selling the minion before buying or rerolling anything, thereby losing the gold it provides from the sale) is generally bad, the buff this minion provides can make up for it, especially if it buffs valuable minions, or minions you really need. It is also better if it buffs several minions you want to buy at once, though it is rarely a good idea to wait for a large assortment of minions specifically for this; even buffing just one or two minions can be good enough, especially if you intend to replace it anyway.

Weigh the benefits of the buff it will give against the strength it adds to your board if you sell it - it is not always correct to get rid of it for its buff, especially considering its Dragon tribal. Later minions like Twilight Emissary or Razorgore, the Untamed will synergize with it, so it can be reasonable to keep it in a Dragon warband.
