Lore[edit | edit source]
The Spirit of the Dragonhawk is, as the name suggests, a spiritual manifestation[2] of Jan'alai, the dragonhawk loa.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- During the development of Rastakhan's Rumble, the developers always wanted to include the effect "Your Hero Power also targets adjacent minions" on one of the set's mage cards to play into the fiery Hero Power theme of Jan'alai's Dragonhawks, but the effect shifted around between Spirit of the Dragonhawk, Pyromaniac, and Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk throughout development before eventually ending up on the Spirit. Another idea that was considered was to have a card reading "Spell Damage affects your Hero Power", which was at one point tested on Jan'alai before being moved to the Spirit, but the deck didn't quite work with this effect due to the difficulty of trying to include both Hero Power and Spell Damage cards.[3]
- During the November 19, 2018 Rastakhan's Rumble card reveal livestream, Ice Walker's effect was shown not to apply to additional targets targeted by Spirit of the Dragonhawk's effect.[4] This was confirmed as a bug and was corrected prior to the release of the expansion.[5][6][7][8]
