Serpent Ward is a rare neutral minion card, from the Rastakhan's Rumble set.

How to get[edit | edit source]

Serpent Ward can be obtained through Rastakhan's Rumble card packs, through crafting, or as an Arena reward. Golden Serpent Ward can also be obtained through the Highest Rank Bonus chest at the end of each Ranked season.

Card Crafting cost Disenchanting
Serpent Ward 100 20
Golden Serpent Ward 800 100

Strategy[edit | edit source]

Comparable to a repeatable Goblin Bomb, Serpent Ward can bypass Taunt to deal minor damage to the enemy hero. When combined with effects such as Drakkari Enchanter and other direct damage, this can close out a game when used strategically.

In Standard as of Rastakhan's Rumble, there are not a lot of Totem-based tools to take advantage of this Tribe, but this could be subject to change.

Lore[edit | edit source]

Serpent wards are immobile totems accompanied by snake spirits that can be summoned by troll shadow hunters to attack nearby foes. Serpent Ward first appeared as an ability for the Shadow Hunter hero unit in Warcraft III. However, they have only been seen a handful of times in World of Warcraft, where they are primarily associated with Vol'jin.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • This card is the first ever non-Shaman totem to be added to the game besides Nightmare Amalgam.
