Selfless Hero is a rare paladin minion card, from the Whispers of the Old Gods set.

How to get[edit | edit source]

Selfless Hero can be obtained through Whispers of the Old Gods card packs purchased online from the Battle.net shop, or through crafting.

Card Crafting cost Disenchanting
Selfless Hero 100 20
Golden Selfless Hero 800 100

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • Selfless Hero may choose to give Divine Shield to a target that already has Divine Shield, thus providing no functional difference.[1][2]

Strategy[edit | edit source]

This card is riskier than Argent Protector, since your opponent can choose to kill your other minions before killing her, wasting her Deathrattle. On a full board her Deathrattle can also end up giving the wrong minion Divine Shield.

It is still great in combination with Steward of Darkshire, increasing her chance to survive until next turn so you can "choose" to which minion she gives a Divine Shield.

This card provides a similar strategic advantage to Dark Cultist or Avenge, forcing the opponent to dismantle your board in a certain order to avoid granting you the buff. As a result it can be useful in disrupting the opponent's plays, and causing them to waste potential damage or effects.

Quotes[edit | edit source]

Summon
Nothing scares me! ...except mice.
Attack
Is that it?
Death
Avenge me...

Lore[edit | edit source]

This card depicts a selfless defender, who through their altruistic death grants a shield of Holy grace to an ally.
