Recurring Villain is a rare neutral minion card, from the Rise of Shadows set.
How to get
Recurring Villain can be obtained through Rise of Shadows card packs, or through crafting.
Card | Crafting cost | Disenchanting |
---|---|---|
Recurring Villain | 100 | 20 |
Golden Recurring Villain | 800 | 100 |
Strategy
This card is similar to Zerek, Master Cloner, but Neutral and requires less maintenance to keep his effect up, since there are many more ways to buff its Attack.
It works best in a Paladin deck, thanks to their access to numerous cheap buff spells. Works particularly well with Sword of Justice, giving it as many lives as you have Durability on the weapon.
In Wild, you can combine this with Sneaky Devil to make it unkillable - as long as the opponent has no way to kill the Sneaky Devil.

Trivia
- Recurring Villain's card art originally included a bomb (see below) to give the image a sense of narrative and hint at the character's Machiavellian personality. It was removed during the sketch review process to avoid confusion with the Bomb mechanics found on other Rise of Shadows cards. Removing the bomb also made the image cleaner with a better silhouette.[1]
- Recurring Villain's appearance is a nod to various classic cartoon villains,[2] with specific inspiration taken from Dick Dastardly (Wacky Races), Snidely Whiplash (The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show), and the Hooded Claw (The Perils of Penelope Pitstop).[3]
