Strategy[edit | edit source]

Possessed Villager is a cheap sticky minion, providing two 1/1s for the 1 Mana. It works well in Zoolock decks, providing a good target for trading buffs like Abusive Sergeant and Power Overwhelming, and resists AoE removal due to its Deathrattle.

It also works well with cards like Knife Juggler and Darkshire Councilman which have effects that trigger when minions are summoned. However, in comparison with Argent Squire, it is more likely to lose non-temporary buffs, such as Defender of Argus' buff.

Quotes[edit | edit source]

Summon
Get it out, get it oooout!
Death
DAA! Free.

Lore[edit | edit source]

This hapless villager has been possessed by a Shadowbeast, a minion of the Old Gods.[1]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • This card was designed to "communicate the madness" of the Whispers of the Old Gods set, while still "maintaining the values of Hearthstone and keeping it friendly."[1]
  • A Possessed Villager appears in Hearth and Home, dancing with Ava.
