Outcast is an ability where the stated effect occurs if the card is played from either of the outermost spots in the hand. Cards with this ability are limited to the Demon Hunter class.

Strategy[edit | edit source]

If you want to use Outcast to its fullest potential, it's a good idea to use lots of low-mana cards in your deck. This will let you clear your hand and activate the Outcast effect more consistently. The most consistent way to activate Outcast effects is to keep a small hand. With fewer cards in hand, there's less of a chance you'll be stuck with something unplayable and be unable to benefit from Outcast. However, you will be at the mercy of draw RNG.

Outcast cards are greatly affected by effects that generate or remove cards from the hand. It's important to be careful with the order cards are played in; for example, Twin Slice will place the Second Slice in the rightmost spot, potentially forcing you to waste the second spell to access an Outcast.

Cards that are immediately drawn will have their Outcast effect enabled. It's important to choose whether or not to change your plan to account for a newly-drawn Outcast, playing it when it's most easily activated.

If Outcast cards aren't used quickly, they might get such between two high cost cards - such as an Outcast card flanked by two Inner Demons, or your combo pieces such as Kael'thas Sunstrider and Inner Demon, making it inconvenient for you to activate its Outcast effect. In these cases, you should just forsake the Outcast effect and use it for its main effect.
