Trivia[]

  • Omega Devastator's card art was originally created for The Boomsday ProjectOmega Defender from the Boomsday Project set. Omega Defender is not classified as a Mech minion, but during internal playtesting of The Boomsday Project, Team 5 suspected that the card's original artwork could be confused for a Mech, which would sometimes lead to misplays. Community feedback following the public reveal of Omega Defender confirmed these suspicions, and in the interest of clarity, the team made the decision to replace Omega Defender's card art with another piece that placed greater emphasis on the goblin pilot inside the mech. However, the team also stated that the change was made purely for gameplay reasons and had nothing to do with the quality of the original art, which they agreed was "equally awesome", and that they'd look forward to using the original piece in another way in the future.[1] With the release of Omega Devastator in Rise of Shadows, this eventually came to pass.
