Nomi, Kitchen Nightmare is a Tier 5 minion in the Battlegrounds game mode.

Strategy[edit | edit source]

Nomi works a lot like Kalecgos, Arcane Aspect, creating a board-wide buff by playing specific types of minions, except he applies the buff to the tavern. While this doesn't let you preserve most buffs you would've received from other sources, Nomi still provides a lot of stats from his effect. You can always replace an old minion with a buffed tavern copy, and this effect also makes triples very powerful, since they effectively have triple the buffs from Nomi. It also lets you cycle between Elementals more safely, since you don't have to worry about losing stats from selling old, buffed minions.

Once you get Nomi you will essentially want to buy every elemental that appears in the tavern, in order to build up his buff. Generated elementals, such as awards from making triples, from playing Tavern Tempest, selling Sellemental or Gentle Djinni will not get the buff from Nomi, but can be played in order to increase his buff for other minions. A big buff from Nomi is particularly useful for giving Lieutenant Garr a high attack value. When you reach the final few rounds of the game it can be advantageous to trade Nomi in for an elemental.
