Murloc Tidecaller full

Murlocs? In my Mage deck? It's more likely than you think.

Murloc Mage is an Aggro Mage deck type that uses the Murloc minion type to maintain board presence while also dealing massive early game damage. Much like its sister deck, Tempo Mage, it aims to deal bursts of damage with LegacyFrostbolt and LegacyFireball whilst keeping a sizable hand using Kobolds & CatacombsAluneth, The WitchwoodBook of Specters, and The Boomsday ProjectStargazer Luna.

History[]

Murloc Mage was originally conceived when Book of Specters was released in The Witchwood set, giving Mage a faster and more quantiful LegacyArcane Intellect for minion heavy decks. With the release of The Boomsday Project, the deck fell out of favor to Tempo Mage's more spell heavy cards with the support of LegacyMana Wyrm, the most powerful 1-drop for Mage at the time. After the nerf to Mana Wyrm in Patch 12.2.0.27358, the power of cheap and discounted spells had lessened, leaving behind the more minion focused Murloc Mage deck to have the highest win rate out of the Mage deck types until the release of the Rastakhan's Rumble set.
