After your opponent plays a minion, give it Reborn.
The ankle bone's connected to the shin bone. The knuckle bone's connected to the... eh, it'll be fine.
Mortuary Machine is an epic neutral minion card, from the Saviors of Uldum set.
How to get[edit | edit source]
Mortuary Machine can be obtained through Saviors of Uldum card packs, through crafting, or as an Arena reward. Regular Mortuary Machine can also be obtained through the Highest Rank Bonus chest at the end of a Ranked season.
Card | Crafting cost | Disenchanting |
---|---|---|
Mortuary Machine | 400 | 100 |
Golden Mortuary Machine | 1600 | 400 |
Notes[edit | edit source]
- If Mortuary Machine is destroyed by a minion that is played from the other player's hand, such as SI:7 Agent, that minion will not get Reborn.
Strategy[edit | edit source]
Mortuary Machine features the same high statline as Fel Reaver and Bittertide Hydra. However, its downside is absolutely crippling compared to those cards. Reborn is a powerful keyword and will make your opponent's board much harder to keep clear. It's relatively easy for your opponent to play a bunch of minions to contest your board, or even play minions then destroy Mortuary Machine. If your opponent plays a Taunt minion and clears the rest of your board, Mortuary Machine's downside will effectively negate its own stats. It could also make an opponent's Frost Nova + Doomsayer unanswerable.
One use for Mortuary Machine is to bait out minions then use Mass Dispel, Spellbreaker, or Ironbeak Owl to punish your opponent. You can also preemptively Silence your own Mortuary Machine, although there are better and cheaper self-Silence targets.
Mortuary Machine can be good against decks like Spell Hunter which use few or no minions. It can also work in extreme fatigue situations where your opponent doesn't have many minions. This can happen when created by Omega Assembly or Delivery Drone. In either case however, if they do have a minion it could heavily backfire.
