Strategy[edit | edit source]
Mana Reservoir is practically worthless when played on its own, even when combined with spells, many cards are more efficient, such as Bloodmage Thalnos, Kobold Geomancer, and in wild, Cult Sorcerer and Tainted Zealot. Mana Reservoir is better able to survive, as it has 6 health. When played on curve, Mana Reservoir has an extremely large chance of survival and can be paired up with Unexpected Results for a pair if 3-cost minions. This survivability with a low cost suits Mana Reservoir for gaining value over multiple turns, it is also effective when looking for an unexpected Divine Spirit-Inner Fire combo.
Since Mana Reservoir is an elemental, it can also be discounted by Elemental Evocation, making it free, this can suit Tempo Mage very well, especially in those decks which already use Elemental Evocation to discount Mana Cyclone or Cosmic Anomaly.
Mana Reservoir can also be compared to Street Trickster, costing 1 less mana and losing 1 health.
