Kingsbane full

Now this is a knife.

Kingsbane Rogue is a anti-control weapon-focused Rogue deck that revolves around Kobolds & CatacombsKingsbane. It features various weapon buff cards such as LegacyDeadly Poison, Goblins vs GnomesTinker's Sharpsword Oil, and LegacyCaptain Greenskin to generate permanent value and eventually build up a weapon that single-handedly defeats the opponent. Furthermore, due to Kingsbane's shuffle effect, it can prevent any Fatigue damage that the player might worry about in a prolonged match. Knights of the Frozen ThroneValeera the Hollow is often used to generate a second Kingsbane, allowing you to constantly shuffle Kingsbane into the deck.

Kingsbane was initially a fringe deck for most of its lifetime in Standard. It was known for its powerful late game where their buffed Kingsbane can take out any large minion and healing back any damage it takes with Knights of the Frozen ThroneLeeching Poison and being immune to fatigue damage, but was vulnerable to early game pressure and lacked consistency due to having only one weapon draw card. Rastakhan's Rumble introduced Rastakhan's RumbleRaiding Party, where having additional weapon draw gave it the consistency it needed to raise its status among high tier decks. Its success led to Knights of the Frozen ThroneLeeching Poison being nerfed, causing it to not grant Lifesteal permanently, removing its late game staying power.

Kingsbane Rogue continued to find success in Wild after it was rotated out of Standard, where it gets access to more weapon buffs like Goblins vs GnomesTinker's Sharpsword Oil and Goblins vs GnomesShip's Cannon with Mean Streets of GadgetzanPatches the Pirate to cover its weakness in the early game. Kingsbane Rogue in Wild switched its playstyle to be much more faster and aggressive, thanks to being able to ramp up its power faster.

Deck Type[]

Kingsbane Rogue focuses very heavily on drawing Kingsbane in the early game, with most decks featuring Kobolds & CatacombsCavern Shinyfinder and Rastakhan's RumbleRaiding Party to do it more consistently. Players should aim to mulligan for these cards along with Kingsbane itself. Drawing the entire deck also features in the deck's game plan, as this will give constant access to Kingsbane.

To prevent aggro decks from rushing the Rogue before Kobolds & CatacombsKingsbane gets any larger, the deck usually contains many early to mid-game removal cards such as LegacySap and Rastakhan's RumbleWalk the Plank along with various AoE cards such as LegacyBlade Flurry and LegacyVanish.

Kingsbane Rogue plays much more aggressively in the Wild format, thanks to access to far more weapon buffing cards. Some Mill Rogue decks also hybridize with Kingsbane Rogue, since Kingsbane negates the Fatigue damage of drawing out your own deck too quickly.
