Most spell-specific, weapon-specific, and minion-specific card tables were converted Monday night to run on a different wiki extension. (From Semantic MediaWiki to Cargo.)

Due to an error regarding collectibility, the converted table may display incorrect results. While the error has been corrected, it may take through the night for the incorrect values to be updated.

Battlecry: Silence a minion.

Ironbeak Owl is a common neutral minion card, from the Classic set.

How to get[edit | edit source]

Ironbeak Owl can be obtained through Classic card packs, through crafting, or as an Arena reward. Golden Ironbeak Owl can also be obtained through the Highest Rank Bonus chest at the end of each Ranked season.

Card Crafting cost Disenchanting
Ironbeak Owl 40 5
Golden Ironbeak Owl 400 50

Strategy[edit | edit source]

Ironbeak Owl is the lowest costing source of Silence for all classes, but unfortunately comes with terrible stats. In almost every case, Spellbreaker is a better choice, costing only one more mana while having +2/+2 in stats. However, Spellbreaker lacks the Beast tag, which can make Ironbeak Owl slightly more useful in Hunter decks for its Beast synergy.

Lore[edit | edit source]

From Wowpedia:

Ironbeak Owls are neutral level 44-45 owls found in Felwood.

Patch changes[edit | edit source]

Commentary: "Ironbeak Owl is a staple source for an inexpensive Silence in many decks. In line with our overall goal to make Silence effects more costly, Ironbeak Owl is moving from 2 to 3 mana."
