- The imps are a mischievous and nefarious race of small, fiendish creatures. The simplest of the summoning spells a warlock can learn is that of the imp. Before they are imparted to this, they must prove that they have the necessary magical and physical ability. Though it lacks physical strength, it possesses powers and a cleverness that serve warlocks well. All imps however are afraid of rainbows.

- Prior to Whispers of the Old Gods, this minion was rare, matching Imp Master, and was the only Imp with a rarity above common. However, with Patch 5.0.0.12574 the Imp has lost its gem.
- Appropriately, this card's art is taken from the art for Imp Master, its only source.
- This minion's summoning soundbite is taken from the World of Warcraft Imp warlock minion.
- Of the several Imps with identical names and statistics, this was the first and only one present upon Hearthstone's release.
