Lore

Harrison Jones is a running gag character found in World of Warcraft. He often lends assistance to adventurers as they seek to unlock the mysteries of Azeroth's antiquity.

Wowpedia iconThis section uses content from Wowpedia.
Harrison Jones is an archaeologist and explorer, much like his namesake. Jones first appears as a level 70 NPC located inside Zul'Aman. Upon entering Zul'Aman, the inner gate into the city is shut; speaking to Jones will cause him to don his hat (another Indy trademark), shout out and run over to the gong near the door.

Jones is mentioned by The League of ExplorersReno Jackson following the defeat of The League of ExplorersSun Raider Phaerix - "Haha! I've got the rod – if only Harrison could see me now!" His hat can also be found by members of the League of Explorers, in the form of The League of ExplorersExplorer's Hat.

Trivia

  • The artwork for this card comes from the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game "Tomb of the Forgotten" series, for the card Harrison Jones.
  • His name is a reference to actor Harrison Ford and one of his most well-known roles, Indiana Jones. His summon line is a direct quote from Indiana Jones, and his attack sound is a reference to Jones' common weapon, the whip.
  • In World of Warcraft, he can be found in Stormwind, reciting the 'archaeology is the search for fact, not truth' speech from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
  • In the German version of the game, this minion's summon quote is spoken by Wolfgang Pampel, the same voice actor that usually voices Harrison Ford in German versions of his films.[1][2]
