Lore[]
Hakkar the Houndmaster is an agent of the Burning Legion and was the first major demon to cross the Well of Eternity portal. He supervised the portal's growth with Mannoroth during the War of the Ancients, and returned to create a powerful breed of mage-hunter felhounds during the third invasion of the Burning Legion.

- His artwork comes from the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game "Timewalkers" series, depicting the card Hakkar the Houndsmaster
- When creating the character in Warcraft, Chris Metzen accidentally named
Hakkar, the Soulflayer after the Houndmaster, saying that the name was so good it was "jumbling in his mind".[1]
