- When the Lich King's grasp on his vast armies faltered after the Third War, a contingent of undead broke free of their master's iron will. Although this freedom seemed to be a blessing at first, these former humans were soon tormented by memories of the unspeakable horrors that they had committed as mindless Scourge agents. Those who did not descend into madness were faced with a chilling realization: the entirety of Azeroth sought their destruction.
- In their darkest hour, the renegade undead were rallied together by the former ranger-general of Quel'Thalas, Sylvanas Windrunner. Defeated during an attack on her kingdom and transformed into a powerful Scourge banshee, Sylvanas had also regained her freedom from the Lich King. Under their new queen's guidance, the independent undead – known as Forsaken – established the Undercity beneath the ruins of Lordaeron's capital. While some Forsaken feared Sylvanas, others valued the security she provided. Many of the free-willed undead, however, found a purpose to their cursed existence through the banshee queen's burning desire to destroy the Lich King.
- Despite not being affiliated with the Scourge, the Forsaken came under threat from humans who were dedicated to eradicating all undead. As a means to further her own goals and protect her budding nation, Sylvanas sent emissaries to various factions in search of allies. The kind-hearted tauren of Thunder Bluff proved to be the most promising contact. Specifically, Archdruid Hamuul Runetotem saw the potential for redemption in Sylvanas' people, even though he was fully aware of the Forsaken's sinister nature. Thus, the tauren convinced Warchief Thrall, despite his misgivings, to forge an alliance of convenience between the Forsaken and the Horde. In the end, the Forsaken's chances of victory against the Lich King were bolstered, while the Horde gained an invaluable foothold in the Eastern Kingdoms.

After you summon a Rush minion, give it +2 Attack. He's always going to reign on his parade.
At the end of your turn, give another random friendly minion +1/+1. When you're at the bottom, there's nowhere to ascend, but up.
Combo: Deal 1 damage. Almost went to play for Stormwind before signing with Undercity.

Divine Shield. Battlecry: Give your C'Thun +2/+2 (wherever it is). He gave her a promise ring and everything.
Whenever one of your other minions dies, draw a card. She may be an evil cult master, but she still calls her parents once a week.
Battlecry: Swap the Attack and Health of a minion. #abs
Deathrattle: Add a Coin to your hand. After the guild broke up, he could no longer raid the tombs.
Deathrattle: Add two 1/1 Skeletons to your hand. "Oil," "Rail," and "Blubber" were already taken.
Deathrattle: If it's your opponent's turn, summon an 8/8 Skeleton. What do you mean there's no such thing as "Skelemancy?" But "Dinomancy" is ok?
Your weapon has +2 Attack while this is damaged. She'll craft you a sword, but you'll need to bring her 5 Steel Ingots, 3 Motes of Earth, and the scalp of her last customer.
Battlecry: Swap the Attack and Health of a minion. "You'll love my new recipe!" he says... especially if you're not happy with your current number of limbs.
Whenever this minion attacks a hero, add the Coin to your hand. He has a giant collection of purses now. One for every outfit!
Battlecry: Discard your highest Cost card.
Deathrattle: Add 2 copies of it to your hand. The "best by" date is more like a guideline.
Deathrattle: Add a random class card to your hand (from your opponent's class). Psst! Wanna buy a random class card (from your opponent's class)?
After you cast a spell, deal 1 damage to ALL minions. BOOM BABY BOOM! BAD IS GOOD! DOWN WITH GOVERNMENT!
Hero Powers are disabled. He's a mind breaker, dream taker, ghoul trainer, don't you mess around with him.
Battlecry: Add a 'Mirror Image' spell to your hand. Wearing purple after the holidays? GHASTLY!
Battlecry: Gain stats equal to your weapon's. There's no such thing as a free boot.

Battlecry: Choose a friendly minion. Shuffle a copy of it into your deck. He's gotten big into crypt-o-currency.
Battlecry: Destroy a friendly minion and gain its Attack and Health. He's on the hunt for Togwaggle's missing rat.
Battlecry: Give a random Lifesteal minion in your hand +2/+2. Don't fear the Arcanite Reaper.
Battlecry: If you've Invoke twice, draw 3 cards. If you're not wearing your regulation cultist clothing, how will Galakrond know to devour you last?
Deathrattle minions you play cost (3) less, but die at the end of the turn. It's hard to call her reckless when it's clear she knows what she's doing.
At the end of your turn, add a random Demon to your hand. She ships illicit mana crystals around the world in packages marked: FUNNEL CAKE.
Combo: Return a minion to its owner's hand. He just wants people to see his vacation photos.
Battlecry: Your opponent casts a random spell from their hand (targets chosen randomly). Far more effective than the flamboyant saboteur.
Deathrattle: Give a Dragon in your hand +3/+3 and this Deathrattle. You can't just run away from your problems. Unless you have another dragon to jump to.

Whenever this attacks, both players draw until they have 3 cards. Infamous in the seedy underground card rooms of Gadgetzan, he got his nickname winning the coveted Shark Plushie in the city's first Hearthstone tournament.
Battlecry: Replace spells in your hand with random spells (from your opponent's class). She doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And she absolutely will not stop... ever, until all necromancers are dead.
Battlecry: Discover a Deathrattle minion. Also gain its Deathrattle. On her first day on the job, Myra removed the smoke detectors.
Deathrattle: Take control of a random enemy minion. Sylvanas was turned into the Banshee Queen by Arthas, but he probably should have just killed her because it just pissed her off.
Battlecry: Deal 2 damage to all other minions. If any die, repeat this Battlecry. Betrayed the Alliance. Betrayed the Horde. All for 200 achievement points and a sweet, sweet hat.
At the end of your turn, summon a friendly minion that died this game. She always manages to lift your spirits.

Deal 3 damage to the enemy hero. There's something about this strike that just feels off. Sinister, even.
Deal 1 damage to all enemy minions. This spell is much better than Arcane Implosion.
Deal 1 damage. Draw a card. Rogues are experts at SHIV-al-ry.
Freeze all enemy minions. Hey man, that's cold. Literally and metaphorically.
Deal 4 damage to a minion. It’s a Bolt. Its made out of Shadow. What more do you need to know!
Deal 3 damage to ALL characters. It's spells like these that make it hard for Warlocks to get decent help.
Deal 2 damage to all enemy minions. Restore 2 Health to all friendly characters. If the Holy Light forsakes you, good luck casting this spell. Also, you're probably a jerk.
Deal 4 damage to an enemy and 1 damage to all other enemies. When a bear rears back and extends his arms, he's about to Swipe! ... or hug.
Deal 2 damage to 2 random enemy minions. Overload: (2) If you combine it with Spooned Lightning and Knived Lightning, you have the full dining set.
Choose One - Deal 2 damage; or Summon two 1/1 Saplings. 2 out of 2 saplings recommend that you summon the saplings.
Add a random card from another class to your hand. The class is always greener on the other side of the board.
Secret: After your opponent casts a spell, draw 2 cards. "Ahh sand in my eyes! Also, I'm being stabbed."
Deal 2 damage to a minion. Cleans even the toughest clogs with just a flick of the wrist!
Deal 2 damage. Combo: Deal 4 damage instead. There is a high cost to Eviscerating your opponent. You might tweak your elbow! That really hurts!
Deal 5 damage to the enemy hero. This spell blasts you directly in the MIND.
Add 2 random Deathrattle cards to your hand. Elite Tauren Chieftain's next hit single.
Secret: After your opponent plays a minion, put 2 copies of it into your hand. It's like déjà vu, times two.

Battlecry: Deal damage equal to this minion's Attack. "Crime reported at First Bank of Gadgetzan. Huge quantities of Jade being carried away by what looks like a bunch of Hozen. Kodo 77 can you make it over there now?"
Your Hero Power becomes 'Deal 2 damage'. If already in Shadowform: 3 damage. If a bright light shines on a priest in Shadowform… do they cast a shadow?
Destroy a random enemy minion. Combo: And your opponent's weapon. Rogues can't stand it. They know you planned it! They are going to set you straight!
Shuffle all minions into your opponent's deck. Everybody! Hit the deck!
