This card can potentially be a huge damage mitigator for rogues, but timing is essential for this card. The enemy can set off this Secret with any amount of damage whenever it's in play, and unlike Ice Block, it does not protect against one single lethal amount of damage, so it cannot be saved for the last minute as well. This card should be saved for when you are expecting to take multiple hits for big damage, like when the opponent has a huge board or when you are expecting a one-turn kill combo.
With Sudden Betrayal taken into account, the opponent has the choice of either deal a small amount of damage with their hero or spell and risk missing out on damage for the turn or attack with a big minion and risk trading with one of their own minions.
