How to get
Arcane Watcher can be obtained through Rise of Shadows card packs, or through crafting.
Card | Crafting cost | Disenchanting |
---|---|---|
Arcane Watcher | 100 | 20 |
Golden Arcane Watcher | 800 | 100 |
Strategy
This minion has similar applications as Ancient Watcher, possessing huge stats but being unable to attack in most cases. While it could work in a deck with plenty of Spell Damage granting cards, it's more suitable for Silence Priest decks that can take negate its downsides with cards like Unsleeping Soul.
Lore
Arcane Watcher is highly similar in appearance to the statue of Rhonin that was erected in the Eventide district of Dalaran following the Kirin Tor leader's death during the Attack on Theramore Isle.
Trivia
- Arcane Watcher's flavor text is likely a reference to the A Song of Ice and Fire book series and its TV adaptation Game of Thrones, in which eulogies for fallen members of the Night's Watch order is usually finished with the words "And now his watch is ended". The phrase is often misquoted by fans as "And now his watch has ended".
