Strategy[edit | edit source]
The Anubisath Defender has adequate stats for it's cost, but is a strong defensive minion in druid decks that run plenty of 5 or more mana spells. It pairs particularly well with Nourish, allowing you to ramp or refill your hand while dropping a strong taunt for 0 mana. Consequently, this minion is a good fit in a deck with Untapped Potential, which can use spells like Nourish and Starfall to their full potential, while keeping a strong taunt on the board to protect your health.
Lore[edit | edit source]
- The anubisaths are titan-forged giants made of obsidian. Originally assigned by Highkeeper Ra to safeguard the fortresses of Uldum and Ahn'Qiraj, the ones guarding the latter were eventually enslaved by the qiraji.
Anubisath Defenders are anubisaths that roam the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj, home of the Old God C'Thun. However, this version of the Anubisath Defender appears to be glowing with green druidic power, similar to Ammunae, implying it has not been corrupted by the old gods.
