Battlecry: For each different
minion type you have,
Adapt randomly.

See this card on Hearthpwn

Amalgadon is a Tier 6 minion in the Battlegrounds game mode.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • Amalgadon's Battlecry effect chooses a random option from all Adapt options (except Liquid Membrane and Shrouding Mist) for each minion type.
  • Amalgadon will count each minion with the "All" minion type once, including itself.
  • The "All" minion type will fill in for any missing minion type, even for minion types that are not present in that particular game or even in Battlegrounds (Totem).

Strategy[edit | edit source]

While Amalgadon's Battlecry is random, the Adaptations it can receive are extremely valuable, mainly Crackling Shield and Poison Spit. Even the stat-buffing Adaptations are good because it give Amalgadon good baseline stats right off the bat.

Amalgadon's true power lies in its "All" minion type, allowing it to receive an array of special buffs from any minions. It can receive Divine Shield, Poisonous, Taunt, etc, if its Battlecry didn't give it one, and it benefits from all kinds of AoE buffs like Goldrinn, the Great Wolf, Nadina the Red, etc.

While Amalgadon favors Menagerie builds, it can still fit in any other minion tribe builds, even if less efficiently. If you have an extra minion from another tribe and have the space for it, play it before playing Amalgadon to get extra value off its Battlecry.

With a Brann Bronzebeard on your board and five different tribes on board, Amalgadon can potentially Adapt 12 or 18 times.

Lore[edit | edit source]

Amalgadon is unique to Hearthstone.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Amalgadon is the first buyable minion in Battlegrounds to have the 'All' type since The Curator's Amalgam and the long-removed Nightmare Amalgam.
  • Amalgadon is the first All-type minion to lack the italicized reminder text explaining what All means.
  • Amalgadon's name is possibly a reference to Galvadon, referencing how it can normally Adapt several times like Galvadon does.
