Tracking removes from deck[]

Tracking is actually removes from your deck instead of discarding the cards.176.41.171.80 19:29, 19 March 2017 (UTC)

Changed, thanks. Aegonostic (talk) 20:19, 19 March 2017 (UTC)
This is actually incorrect. As explained in the notes on LegacyTracking and on Talk:Tracking#When is a discard not a discard?, cards not chosen from Tracking are removed not from the deck but from the setaside zone - a special zone used for effects like Tracking. As a result it behaves differently; critically, the cards not chosen are not displayed to the opponent, in the way cards removed by Fel Reaver are. Technically it would be a 'remove from setaside zone effect', but at the time the decision was made not to bother to make a separate tag/page for the behaviour. However, feel free to continue that discussion there. In the meanwhile I've reverted the changes to the two pages. -- Taohinton (talk) 11:21, 20 March 2017 (UTC)
That's interesting, ok thanks. So just reiterating, the zone being defined for the cards in the Tracking effect is different and distinct from the deck zone. Aegonostic (talk) 14:13, 20 March 2017 (UTC)
Yup. As stated on Tracking:
Technically, Tracking does not count as a discard effect because the cards are first moved to the Set Aside Zone (the zone used for Discover effects) for selection. The unchosen cards are removed from this zone rather than from the hand or deck, thus avoiding the usual consequences of either discarding or removing from deck. Similarly, Tracking does not count as a card draw effect since the chosen card is drawn from the Set Aside Zone rather than normally from the deck.
