Notes

To edit these notes, go to Template:Mind Vision notes.

  • If the opponent has no cards, Mind Vision will have no effect and will not generate a card for the caster, but will still be consumed. It will also still trigger spell-related effects such as LegacyCounterspell and LegacyGadgetzan Auctioneer.
  • The card created by Mind Vision is a copy of the original, including any enchantments such as LegacyShadowstep's cost reduction or Goblins vs GnomesBolvar Fordragon's attack increase.
  • If Mind Vision copies an untransformed Whispers of the Old GodsShifter Zerus minion into the player's hand, the copy will be of Shifter Zerus itself and will transform as normal starting on the next turn. If it copies a Shifter Zerus that has already transformed into another minion (even if it has not yet been played from the hand), it is simply a copy of that minion, and will not transform.[1][2]

Lore

Mind Vision is a channelled priest spell from World of Warcraft which allows the caster to see through the eyes of the target for up to 1 minute. A utility spell, Mind Vision sees little use from most players, but can offer strategic benefits. Used in a battleground such as Warsong Gulch, it can be used to locate the enemy flag carrier before they appear on the map. It can also be useful in casual battlegrounds for quickly ascertaining the state of play, through using the spell on various team members around the map in quick succession. The priest can pick a defending point, then use Mind Vision to cycle through their teammates, calling for reinforcements and warning of attacks, where the teammate themselves may be too busy fighting to do so. As a channelled effect, priests using Mind Vision must however take care not to let enemies sneak up on them while they are looking through the eyes of another.

Trivia

  • The artwork for this card comes from the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game "Through the Dark Portal" series, for the card Mind Vision.
  • Mind Vision's original design allowed the priest to actually steal a card from the opponent's hand.[3] Ben Brode described the design as "rage-inducing".[3]
