Notes

To edit these notes, go to Template:Feugen notes.

The rules for Feugen and Stalagg's Deathrattle are quite simple, and are applied consistently regardless of related circumstances. Nonetheless, the variety of possible eventualities is substantial.

  • Feugen's Deathrattle will summon NaxxramasThaddius for the controlling player, if NaxxramasStalagg has also died during the game. Stalagg's Deathrattle works in precisely the same way, but is of course conditional on Feugen's earlier death. Therefore, any example below is just as valid with the names swapped.
  • In the simplest case, a Stalagg is killed first, and then a Feugen, in which case only the minion which died second will summon Thaddius for its owner, regardless of who controlled the first minion to die. The Deathrattle of the minion that dies first will have no effect, since its counterpart has not yet died.
  • If both die simultaneously, Thaddius will be summoned by both Deathrattles.[1][2][3][4] This rule holds true regardless of who owns which minion. This is because when multiple minions die simultaneously, they are all removed from play and Death Events created before any on-death triggers (such as Deathrattles) run.
  • A Feugen's death makes no difference to the activation of another Feugen's Deathrattle; it looks only for a Stalagg death. A single Stalagg death satisfies the condition for all subsequent Feugen deaths.
  • There is no limit to the number of times Thaddius can be summoned in a single match. The most obvious way for this to happen is if both players have both minions.
  • If both Feugens die before any Stalaggs die, then both Stalaggs will summon Thaddius (but neither Feugen will).
  • If a Feugen dies first and a Stalagg second, then that Stalagg will summon Thaddius, as will all subsequent Feugens or Stalaggs.
  • Copying Feugen/Stalagg through effects such as NaxxramasDuplicate, LegacyFaceless Manipulator and LegacyThoughtsteal among other means can allow players to summon even more Thaddiuses over the course of a game.
Preventing Thaddius
  • Silencing the second minion to die will remove the Deathrattle and thus prevent Thaddius from being summoned. However, silencing the first minion to die will not prevent the death of the second minion from later summoning Thaddius, since even a silenced minion still counts as that minion dying.
  • Applying Transform spells such as LegacyHex or LegacyPolymorph to either character will prevent Thaddius from being summoned, since the transformed minion is not considered to have died. Even if it dies in its new form, the LegacyFrog, LegacySheep, or other product of the transformation is the minion that is considered to have died, not the original minion.
  • Of course, preventing one Feugen or Stalagg from summoning Thaddius, or preventing one from satisfying the "has died" condition for it to be summoned later, will not prevent subsequent copies of the same minion from doing so.
Other considerations
  • Thaddius will be summoned on the right side of the board, unlike the minions summoned by most other "sticky" minions.
  • The heroic boss version of Thaddius uses a Feugen and Stalagg without any Deathrattles. Despite the difference from the "real" Feugen and Stalagg, the deaths of those boss minions still satisfy the conditions for the player's own Feugen and Stalagg Deathrattles.
  • In order to summon a golden Thaddius, only the Feugen/Stalagg whose Deathrattle actually summons Thaddius must be golden.

Lore[]

Feugen was a part of the Thaddius boss fight in the Naxxramas raid.

Trivia[]

  • A simple way to distinguish between Feugen and Stalagg is to remember that their names begin with the same letter as the value of their corresponding Attack. "Feugen" and "four" both begin with "F"; "Stalagg" and "seven" both begin with "S".
  • The artwork for this card comes from the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game "Naxxramas Tokens" series, for the card Feugen.
