Notes[edit | edit source]

  • As with most other cards that change your Hero Power, playing this a second time does not change your Hero Power, but does refresh it. So if you have sifficient mana, you can summon a Silver Hand Murloc, play Vilefin Inquisitor, and then summon a second Silver Hand Murloc in the same turn.

Strategy[edit | edit source]

This card obviously fits best in a paladin Murloc deck, giving the player no shortage in murlocs, therefore allowing you to maximize the effect of any murloc synergy cards, such as Murloc Warleader, Murloc Tidecaller, Old Murk-Eye and Murloc Knight.

However, this card makes Anyfin Can Happen somewhat counterproductive to play, since it adds many vanilla 1/1 Murlocs to the pool of minions that can be resurrected from it. This can however make it an effective tech card to counter Anyfin Can Happen decks: the 1/1 Murlocs summoned by the Hero Power will dilute the pool, weakening your opponent's Anyfin Can Happen.

Lore[edit | edit source]

This murloc appears to have been corrupted by the Old Gods, with tentacles in place of legs. However, unlike other corrupted minions, this minion's original form does not feature in Hearthstone. It is possible that the Vilefin Inquisitor is an abnormal murloc or was warped prior to the reawakening of the Old Gods, but this does not match the appearance of Vilefin murlocs in general in World of Warcraft.

From Wowpedia:

The Vile Fin tribe is a tribe of murlocs found in both the Tirisfal Glades and Silverpine Forest.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • This card was initially speculated to be an April Fools, due to its being revealed on March 31.[1]
  • Silver Hand Murloc's name is a reference to the Silver Hand Recruits summoned by the paladin basic Hero Power Reinforce (as well as other effects). However, they are different minions: for example, Silver Hand Murlocs do not benefit from effects like Warhorse Trainer.
  • This card's flavor text is a reference to the Monty Python sketch comedy "The Spanish Inquisition".
